611041 VU Introduction to Media Analysis
winter semester 2019/2020 | Last update: 04.05.2021 | Place course on memo listBasics of media analysis with a focus on the connections and relationships between film shots or montage and popular music. We will deal with the use of songs in films and with musical films.
The VU is additional to the VO Media Sciences. According to the focus of this semester, there will first be a survey over the possible connections between film and music and the use of popular music songs in fiction films. Subsequently we will carry out exemplary analyzes - the treated films will be announced at the beginning of the semester.

Since the course is offered by the Romance studies department, students of Romance studies will be favoured in the enrolment, but of course other interested students are welcome as well!
