This introductory course will give an overview of different areas, theories and terms of spanish linguistics.
Topics to be discussed: Spain and the regional languages, Spanish dialectology, Latin American Spanish, morphology, word-formation, semantics, phonetics and phonology, lexicology and discourse analysis.
Lecture and discussion
Regular attendance, active participation, written final exam.

It is recommended not to take this class before having reached at least the language level B1
