Insights into the role of language in politics and media. To achieve this the participants will acquire knowledge and understanding of political institutions (polity), political procedures (politics) and political contents (policy). Furthermore, they will deepen their knowledge regarding the functioning of language at the different levels.

Some of the main features of political science and the analysis of selected fields of politics (mainly political theory and international politics) as well as the discussion of those linguistic issues which are most relevant for the analysis of political texts and for media analysis (morpho-syntax, semantics, lexicology, pragmatics, argumentation (rhetoric).
