The history of cinema of France, Italy and Spain between fact and fiction.

Already at the beginning of cinema there are two tendencies of the film, the attempt to depict the reality of life (Lumière) and the attempt to carry off into the realm of the imaginary (Méliès Journey to the Moon).

The lecture gives an overview of central themes and approaches to the complex of themes of factuality and fictionality using the example of the film history of Romania as an example. The focus is on the following topics: Media conditions using the example of early cinema; montage and film avant-gardes, film and war, aesthetics of reality: Neorealismo and Nouvelle Vague, film under Franco. Central genres: Documentary film, political cinema, metafictional cinema and postcinema.
