The students will be able to

·         Identify the principles and theoretical bases of TBLT

·         Know several different task types and their usefulness for different teaching contexts

·         Critically evaluate the TBLT approach

·         Plan a task sequence according to TBLT criteria

- Basic principles of action-based and task-based approaches to language learning and teaching

- Task types and their characteristics; appropriate teaching methods 

- Research into task-based language learning and teaching: goals, questions and results 

- Challenges and problems of this approach

Theoretical input; reading and discussion of research literature; planning of a task sequence according to TBLT; seminar paper;

Successful completion of Compulsory Module 1 Bachelor's Programme Secondary School Teacher Training (General Education) Subject: French.

This course is part of Compulsory Module 2 (“Competence Orientation in Modern Language Teaching and Learning”) Bachelor's Programme Secondary School Teacher Training (General Education) Subject: French. According to the study program, attending course PM2a before PM2b is highly recommended.
