Implementation of scientific competence (methods and work techniques) andincorporation with content, development of qualifications to autonomous historical reasoning.

The lecture sheds light on ancient cities in various aspects: their founding myths and legends, the importance of urban planning and the skilful staging of urban architecture, cities as political and cultural focal points, the role of their inhabitants and their conscious demarcation from the rural population will be discussed as well as the prestige of cities in ancient times and beyond.
