Historische Praxis kultureller Begegnungen und Konflikte sowie unterschiedliche Herrschaftsformen kennen und interpretieren

Based on Early Modern European primary sources and modern scholarship, this seminar will comparatively examine the "second men" in early modern European courts. The male and female favourites and/or first ministers played a major role in ruling and organizing the early modern state. The seminar will especially compare the courts in western and central Europe to the court of the Ottoman Empire. 

The seminar is a cooperation of Prof. Ehrenpreis and Dr. Yilmaz and will therefore be held in English.

Eingangsphase, Kurzreferate mit Diskussion, Gruppenarbeit mit Quellenlektüre.

Regelmäßige Mitarbeit, Präsentation und schriftliche Arbeit.
