Moscow as one of Europa’s biggest cities offers naturally a wide range of history. Since 1917 Moscow is once again – after 200 years – the capital of Russia. The excursion proposed will concentrate on the field of Lieux de Memoires and the Politics of history in public space. Besides the development of the city itself the Austrian-Russian relations since the first official diplomatic mission of Sigismund von Herberstein, the constant exchange of artisanship and art as well as the specific Austrian contribution towards architecture and the rising film-production sector during the inter-war period will be discussed as well.
Reading, discussion of relevant literature, preparation of material for the excursion.

Successful completion of obligatory module 1
The attendance of the corresponding excursion 645212 is mandatory.
In the summer term 2020 seven historical excursions will be organised.
