The students have basic knowledge in physiological plant ecology

The effect of abiotic factors (Irradiation, temperature, water and nutrients) on physiological processes (e.g. photosynthesis and respiration, growth and carbon balance, water relations) is explained in terms of fitness and survival of plants in their natural environment. Exemplarily physiological adaptations to peculiar environmental situations are shown. Basics of plant resistance against strong irradiation, heat, frost, drought and poor or toxic soils are demonstrated.
