Graduates of this course have a basic understanding of general questions about the use of microorganisms such as e.g. Requirements for microorganisms, culture on a large scale or sustainability, and they know the most important application areas on the basis of selected examples.

  • Review: historical highlights of applied microbiology    
  • Overview: current color theory of biotechnology: green, red, blue, gray, white biotechnology     
  • Deep views: examples from the different areas
  • Side views: sustainability aspects (raw materials, circular economy, etc.), culture of microorganisms on a large scale
  • Outcome: trends, expectations
