Basics in computer-based data preparation and analyses of tabular and spatial data in ecology.
Ability to gather and interpret data for scientific questions in ecology.
Introduction to preparation and analyses of tabular data using prevalent software products (MS Excel, Matlab); visualisation, analyses and management of spatial data by geographic information systems (GIS) (ArcGIS)
Theoretical introduction (lectures) and excercise courses (tutorials) in the use of the different software products
Examinations using continuous assessment based on regular written and/or oral contributions from the participants.

The maximum size of the course is 15 people per group - please be aware at the registration! Changing the groups later on is possible, but should be organised self-dependent.
