Students will get a comprehensive overview of the structure and function of the European Union with focus on specific and current policy fields.

The online course in English ensures a compact overview of the structure, the central decision maker and the main policy fields of the European Union. Thus, the main fields of consideration are: history, basic theories, decision making / institutions, single market, external relations, environment, the area of freedom, security and justice, the foreign, security and defence policies, economic and monetary union, social and economic cohesion, enlargment, aspects of desintegration, EU governance and public opinion.

Online course in English with weekly assignments (based on respective questions), followed by an individual lecturer  feedback. Furthermore, there are two / three onsite meetings with the total group, which facilitate an exchange between students and  teacher.  Over the entire term a learning curve can be observed, which is also due to the direct feedback.  An extensive final scientific  work has to be delivered after the ten weeks, which deepens the knowledge of  the students in one specific policy field.

Furthermore, Adobe Connect Sessions make the students familiar with another didactic online tool, which facilitates also the inclusion of external discussion experts.

Weekly assignments referring to a scientific text with respective questions and a final scientific paper  about a current topic of the European Union
