The students are able to assess the main gender theories in social sciences and know how to define main questions of gender studies. They have knowledge about social movement theories and about the connectivity of gender studies to humanities, cultural studies, social sciences and economics. They are able to classify the relevance of gender als a fundamental structural category in social contexts.

In the course students work on basic texts of feminist theory. Starting from core questions of feminist theory relevant key concepts are analyzed and their context within the academic discourse is demonstrated.
