312407 VO Digitalisierung im Unternehmensrecht
summer semester 2020 | Last update: 05.02.2024 | Place course on memo listAfter completing this course, the students should have a basic understanding of aspects of digitalisation relevant to business law. In particular, participants should gain an insight into the legal challenges posed by the megatrends "Blockchain" and "Artificial Intelligence".
Under the general theme "Digitalisation in business law", the course will deal with the challenges of the digital world and specific topics in greater depth. A "technology focus" will be followed: One part of the lecture will be dedicated to the topic blockchain. In a 2nd part, legal questions related to algorithmic systems/artificial intelligence (AI) will be discussed.
The content of the lecture covers business law as a whole. For this purpose, different themes are discussed in each unit.
The topics of the first block are so-called Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs) in relation to company law, the digitalisation of shares on the blockchain, competition and intellectual property law aspects of the blockchain as well as the classification of crypto currencies and other crypto assets in capital market law.
The second block will deal with the legal framework for the use of algorithms or AI in the boardroom, collusion through dynamic price adjustment algorithms and the use of algorithmic systems in the financial sector (e.g. Robo-Advise, Algo-Trading).
After an introduction ("What does digitalisation mean in business law?"), the content will be presented by interactive lectures. Before working on the selected fields of digitalisation, the technical and conceptual basics will be (briefly) explained. Basic knowledge of buniness law is an advantage.
