Curr. § 5 Para 2 No 2:

Students acquire the ability to discuss and illustrate the development and transformation of social institutions, markets, state and other central institutions. They are able to apply theories and methods of analysis to selected discussions and issues within social sciences.

The seminar accompanies the lecture series VO 408210. Students will acquire via theoretical and comparative analysis an understanding of the constitutional factors of the market and the state. Especially the basic assumptions of economic sociology, which already are discussed in the lecture, will be examined in detail with reference to recent socio-political questions and challenges. The research fields will be Neo-Institutionalism, Market sociology, Network sociology, Capitalism, Neoliberalism and post-social relations. 

Input by the lecturer, case studies, group discussions, group work, student presentations.
