Thorough knowledge of the philosophical writings of Hannah Arendt.

Everything Hannah Arendt said was important, often provocative, sometimes wrong, but never trivial, never indifferent, never to forget. These words were spoken by Hans Jonas during the mourning ceremony for Hannah Arendt in December 1975. Thus it is not surprising that Arendt’s writings provoked in some cases heated public discussions. An example of such a provocation is her thesis on Adolf Eichmann, a National Socialist .

In the course we will concentrate on Arendt’s anthropological, social philosophical and political thinking as it is mainly presented in her books “Eichmann in Jerusalem”, “The Origins of Totalitarianism” and “The Human Condition”.
