The genre of literary reportage is situated between journalism and literature. The course gives an overview starting with Heinrich Heines travel reports, the reportages of Egon Erwin Kisch and Annemarie Schwarzenbach and leads to modern examples such as Felicitas Hoppe and Ilja Trojanow.

Lecture, groupwork, discussion

Presentation, seminar paper.

A handout will be given with the mandatory reading-list.
