summer semester 2020 | Last update: 17.08.2020 | Place course on memo listCostellazioni di genere nel cinema degli anni '60 e '70 in Romania.
Until the 1960s, sexuality was taboo. In most countries, offering an unmarried couple the opportunity to "fornicate" was as much a punishable offence as homosexuality. The 1968ers rebelled against the great silence. We look into the cinema of Romania, whether and how sexual freedom is celebrated and what consequences it has for gender constellations. How does cinematic identity straetegies work? Are there national specifics? These questions will be discussed using selected examples from Italy, France and Spain.
