611125 VU Francophone Literatures and Cultures (with Reading List)
summer semester 2020 | Last update: 31.08.2021 | Place course on memo listThis course, held in French, will be dedicated to the exploration of sexual, racial and social differences in four literary texts. The participants will explore the categories of "class", "race" and "sex" as well as their intersectional relations and how these categories and their intersectionality are represented in literature.
The students will be asked to read and analyse in detail the following texts:
(1) Madame de Duras, Ourika (1823)
(2) Marguerite Duras, L'amant (1984)
(3) Édouard Louis, En finir avec Eddy Bellegeule (2014)
(4) Christine Angot, Un amour impossible (2015)
The complete and detailed course program will be handed to the students in the first session.
Presentations, reading, analysis, workshops (depending on the number of participants)
