Topic of this course are the congruence and differences between the East Slavonic languages, Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarussian. Special attention will be paid to the language situation in Ukraine and in Belarus, as well as on its historic roots.
Phonetical, morphological, and lexicological features of the three East Slavonic languages will be presented. The language situation in Ukraine and in Belarus will be discussed with a focus on the status of Ukrainian and Belarussian in the respective countries.
Lectures, presentations of the students, discussion.
Active participation, presentation, term paper.
Will be announced.
