Broadening and deepening of knowledge in the Ancient History by dealing with new topics, taking into account current research trends and controversies as welll as applying scholarly skills (methods and techniques, esp. source criticism), and developing of the ability to formulate new historical questions.

Ancient concepts of perceptions of space based on modern theories of social sciences and linguistics.

Basic concepts mental maps - inner/outer space

 

 

 

 

Discussion on the basis of source texts (in translation) and literature as well as of oral presentations of the students.

Active participation and reading, short oral presentation, and written essay.

Relevant literature will be announced during the course.
