Learning Outcome:

Critical engagement with historical sites, objects and forms of (re-)presentation in memory cultures; skills for explaining historical phenomena in situ.

Contents:

With the example of Hamburg, Lübeck, Bremen, Bremerhaven we will learn more about the characteristics and functions of those cities (Hansa, harbour, trading centre) and related aspects (migration, trade, medicine, consumption).

Methods:

Presentations of the course instructors and other local experts, preparation of historical material about the visited places.

Assessment:

Active participation during the excursion. Presentation of different topics and final report.

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of obligatory module 1

Date of the excursion: 24/4-29/4/2020

The attendance of the corresponding course "EX-Agenda" is obligatory.
