summer semester 2020 | Last update: 04.06.2020 | Place course on memo listThe students will gain an insight into the history of historical studies and its sub-disciplines against the backdrop of the regional and global discourse on theories of history. They will be able to link the current discourse on methods to previous historical and transdisciplinary discussions.
Reading and contextualisation of historiographical, epistemic and methodological texts, dealing with the history of their reception and taking gender aspects into account. Special emphasis is placed on a wide range of themes. At the same time, we will practice key skills such as general competence in reading and interpretation.
Short presentations by the course instructor; preparation of and discussion about elected texts; presentation of one text and its context by the students including discussion
Attendance, continuous active participation, presentation of one text and its context, short essay (comparison of the presented text with another text).
Basic literature will be announced in the course.
