Computer Vision is a very broad field and as old as Computer Science itself. The main source of information to humans for the interaction with the world is the eyes; more than half of neurons in the brain dedicated to the senses are dedicated to analyze visual information. In this course we look deeper into some of the methods that have been recently presented in Computer Vision.
Stereopsis, Motion, Object recognition, Biological inspiration/plausibility
Students will then select one of those areas and read and understand several of the papers relevant for their area. They will be required to present those works in a critical manner, that is, showing the advantages and disadvantages of one method compared to others. They will also be required to show how a method works through a simple implementation.
