Participants of this module shall be able to understand, comprehend and apply the contents of the lecture. They shall gain the ability to independently access further contents in contunuum mechanics and theoretical plasma physics. 

Continous matter and fields; coordinates; transformations and tensors; elastostatics and elastodynamics; example: physics of earthquakes; hydrostatics; ideal hydrodynamics; example: foehn wind, Magnus effect; viscous hydrodynamics; incompressible flows; numerical methods (computational fluid dynamics); rotating fluids; surface waves; tsunamis; convection; vortices and hydrodynamic instabilities; incompressible turbulence; gas dynamics; weather dynamics; magnetohydrodynamics; dynamo effect; two-fluid theory of plasmas; plasma turbulence; zonal flows in fusion plasmas and planetary atmospheres.
