Students will learn about the key issues of materials technology in connection with the durability of materials and the accompanying damage analysis for the detection and description of the underlying damage mechanisms. The students are able to model and simulate mechanically, chemically and thermally induced damage processes, as well as to validate the obtained models and results by means of experimental methods.

Description of damage mechanisms in materials, damage analysis at the University of Innsbruck's NanoLab and assessment of damage; Detection of the component state and monitoring, standardization and state of the art
