At this level a more active participation in conversations is possible, though some restrictions in communicative ability still remain and support by the other person is sometimes necessary; e.g. the learner can start/ keep going/ end a conversation on limited, familiar matters; he/she can deal with routine information in everyday situations, but still cannot fully realize his/her communicative intention and has to search for words. In addition, the ability of sustained monologue is better developed, e.g. the learner can express in simple words how he/she feels and can talk about aspects of his/her life in detail, e.g. about people, places, job experience or education.

subordinate clauses with “obwohl“ – to make restrictions; genitive; past (simple) – to talk about a finished action in the past; subjunctive II/unreal conditional – to formulate guarded/ polite requests and to express possibility or unreal conditions/desires/comparisons; declination and comparison of adjectives – to compare people and objects; the superlative – to denote the highest degree of a feature/quality/characteristic of people and objects; future I – to talk about future actions; relative clause – to describe people and objects in some detail

homework, three assignment (final draft), presentation, written paper, midterm test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension) and final test (testing of writing, listening and reading comprehension and speaking/dialogues)
