At this level the learner can understand the main ideas of clear standard input on familiar matters like work, school, leisure; he/she can tackle most situations which could arise whilst travelling in the country where the language is spoken; he/she can express themselves in simple and coherent sentences on familiar topics and areas of interest; he/she can talk about experiences and events; can describe dreams, hopes and goals; he/she can give reasons/explanations for their plans and views.

Linguistic Goals:

to hypothesise; to express approval/ refusal; to assess something; to invite someone; to apologise; to explain oneself; to justify; to question something; to rely something to someone; to forbid/ allow something

Structural Goals:

relative clause; the use of indicative/ subjuntivo in the relative clause; the verbs “caer”, “llevarse” – to describe interpersonal relationships; the use of “ponerse” plus adjective – to express a change of a mental state; connector “es que”- to justify something; conidicional simple – to recommend something, to express wishes/ hypotheses/ requests; “para”/ “para que” – to express a purpose; indirect speech – to quote statements of others; imperative – to give orders
