VU Practical Philosophy - Basics and Applications: A critical view on opinions about euthanasia, genetic engineering, migration, discrimination etc.

The aim of this course is to enable students to critically assess opinions in applied Ethics and their backgrounds.
We read texts about the topics mentioned above, and critically analyze them. We look especially at the normative and metaphysical presuppositions that lie behind the opinions and the reasons for them.
Lecture, reading, discussion, papers.
Papers and oral exam.
