Students have a basic knowledge of the different theological disciplines, their concerns and methods. They are able to understand the interrelation of disciplines within the unity of theology. Furthermore, they reflect on the relation between theology and life, the scientific and social relevance of theology.

Based on a historical introduction to the development of theology as an academic discipline, the course offers an overview of the different theological disciplines (object, method etc.) and their interrelation within the unity of theology. Students are encouraged to reflect the relation between theology and life and the relevance of theology in contemporary academia and society.
