Main focus of the course will be the interface of trademark law and the law of unfair competition, in particular trademark law, but design protection and patent law are briefly dealt with as well. The course will cover the Austrian as well as the European law. (Copyright law is subject of a different course)

Part 1: Selected cases on Limited Liability Company and Partnership Law.

Part 2: National and European Intellectual Property Law and its development with main focus on Trademark and Unfair Competition Law and a brief overview of Design and Patent Law.

Lecture, assessment based on a single examination act at the end of the course.

Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"

Will be discussed in the first lesson.

The course is aimed primarily at students of business law and the "classical" law, but is also suitable for Sowi students.
