The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and tools of philosophical-legal knowledge: from this point of view, the expected learning results are substantiated by the development of adequate analytical skills in order to allow an autonomous and personal reflection on the foundations of the legal phenomenon and its complexities, also in light of the most current issues.

The course is divided into two main parts.
In the first part, of an introductory nature, the question of the identity of philosophical-legal knowledge, its peculiarities and characteristics will be posed through a methodological investigation that will touch on some fundamental concepts such as, for example, that of truth.
The second part will be aimed at studying the main currents of the philosophy of law through dialogue with some of the major authors who have animated the debate, with reference to some relevant theoretical and practical questions (such as, for example, the relationship between law and morality, the nature of legal norms, the form of legal reasoning, the concept of justice ...), together with the critical analyses that will be proposed.

The course will adopt a highly interactive teaching method in order to stimulate the active participation of students and critical discussion on the topics proposed during the course, which will be structured in the form of frontal lessons assisted by Power Point.
