 In this course students learn to value publicly traded companies.

The course covers essential issues in corporate valuation. The focus of this seminar is on understanding the business model of companies, analysing their industrial environment, evaluating their competitive position, analysing their financial statements, assessing their risk exposure and finally deriving a valuation for the company. A special emphasis of the course will be on Discounted-Cash-Flow Valuation and Relative Valuation (Valuation Multiples).

Presentation, Discussion and Written Report

Active Participation (25%), Presentations (50%) and Written Report (25%)

Positive grades of modules according to § 7 Abs. 1 Z 2 to 5

Students are encouraged to voluntarily participate in the CFA-Reserach Challenge.

The first seminar will be held virtually. In the consecutive lessons students will be present group-wise. For the groups of students that are not present, the lecture will be streamed virtually. Detailed information with respect to the group classification can be found on OLAT.
