basic knowledge of philosophy of religion as well as the capability of analyzing, interrelating and reflecting it; advanced philosophical reasoning.

We reconstruct and analyze central theories/currents of Enlightenment philosophy of religion in Europe and North America (Spinozism, deism, materialism) and their "eternal" themes (Does "God" exist and what are his characteristics?, theodicy, religious violence) with windows to political philosophy (religion and the state) as well as intercultural philosophy (reception of Confucianism and Islam by Enlightenment thinkers).
