winter semester 2020/2021 | Last update: 18.11.2020 | Place course on memo listTo acquire a systematic overview of educational theories throughout history; to understand and assess theoretical foundations of education with respect to different standpoints.
Understanding of education in Antiquity; the Age of Enlightenment; "Weimar Classicism"; "Neuhumanismus" (Wilhelm von Humboldt); critical theory; critical rationalism; cross connections between education, self-cultivation and socialization.
The lecture will take place online. Every week a text with Power Point presentation and comments will be posted in OLAT from where they can be download any time. In addition an online discussion forum in OLAT will be set up where students can post their questions.
