The students have a basic knowledge of civic education. They are able to differentiate between different fields and to present connections to social-theoretical debates.

Starting from the question of what is meant by the term education (Bildung) historically and in the present and how it differs from other basic terminology of pedagogy, we will look at various practical fields of civic education. The spectrum ranges from school, to extracurricular civic youth and adult education, to the question of the relationship between civic education and social movements.
