By the end of the seminar the students should be able to identify the processes of genderization of body and body relationsships. They also should be able to qualify the embodiment of gender in the procedures of subjectivation. The acquired knowledge should help to apply  gender and diversity-sensitive pedagogical practices.

The lecture will deal with the social bearing of gendered bodies. It dicusses, how bodies have been educated to become gendered bodies and what the conditions and impacts of this processes are, historically and currently. The gendered body will be approached on three levels: first as material reality, second as a medium of social construction and thrid as an instance of identity building. The students are invited to choose the examples, we work on.

Talks will alternate with docomentaries and plenary discussions. We will also work aon key texts, materials and sources. The examples to discuss will be chosen by the students.

The lecture will end with an oral examination.
