Knowledge of literature and its contexts of the era of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. and the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I.

The lecture offers an overview of the German and Austrian literature and its political and socio-cultural contexts from 1880 to 1918, concentrating on topics, genres and trends. Main authors will be H. Dohm, Lou-Andreas-Salomé, G. Hauptmann, H. Bahr, R. Mayreder, H. v. Hofmannsthal, F. Kafka, R. Musil, R. M. Rilke, A. Schnitzler, G. Trakl and authors of Expressionism,  K. Kraus et al.
