The course is aimed at developing the oral communication skills, also by increasing knowledge on Italian current news.

The Italian latest news: the most important news, the current political and cultural debates, the curiosities. The course shall help understand the Italian reality through reports, descriptions, considerations and critics by journalists, columnists and specialists of different sectors.

Introduction to the topics by the lecturer with brief explanation (frontal teaching). Reflecting on lexical aspects. Reading, analysing and discussing the news (in plenum).

The final grade is based on: participation in class (incl. class discussion) and homework (20%), oral presentation (40%); final conversation (40%).

The teaching material will be provided by the lecturer or provided on OLAT.
