622011 Seminar Contemporary History: History, present and future of the Tyrolean State Museums
winter semester 2020/2021 | Last update: 04.03.2021 | Place course on memo listStudents deal with new themes in selected key areas. They understand and evaluate them as well as argument with regards to scientific dynamics and trends of the respective key areas. They understand the strengths and weaknesses of the different methodological approaches. They gain competences in independent formulating of questions and argumentations.
Due to the proposed reorganisation of the historical exhibitions of the tyrolean museums in the "Zeughaus" and "Tirol Panorama" this course is dedicated to the history of the Ferdinandeum, his current exhibitions and options for the reorganisation.
Beside generell reflections to culture of remembrance, historical policy and the role of museums we also focus on aspects of the recent tyrolean history.
Lecture, reading, discussion.
Regular attendance, active participation in discussions, required readings, oral presentation, written paper.
Will be provided at the beginning of the course.
