In this course the students will practice applied theater approaches and methods that are situated in the context of learning. Students experience principles of theater-based work and develop an understanding of body-oriented, aesthetic and performative learning.

"Theatre is the ability to observe yourself while acting." The course content is based on different methods of applied theater in terms of a self-observing process and aims the development of competences in performing contents at individual and collective level. In the first part the focus is on developing a creative repertoire, while the second part deals with the question of how to perform what has been learnt.

Applied Theatre methods exploit the possibilities of expression of body and voice in combination with others, props, text and content.

They serve to strengthen presence and perception. Methods used come from Drama in Education, games and exercises for actors and non-actors (Augusto Boal), and other inspiring sources.

Continuous presence. Active participation. Written reflection.
