The acquisition of basic skills in dealing with ancient sources.
As the title might suggest, this lecture deals with everyday history of the Classical Age. After defining, what "every day history" might be, we will analyze ancient sources (in translation) dealing with certain aspects of very day life, e.g. family, gender, work, free-time etc.
This lecture is an expansion of the content of the Proseminar Alte Geschichte I, but students can attend it idependently.
Combination of lecture, reading tasks, exercises and group work. Parts of the lecture will be online.
Participation and short essay.
Relevant literature will be announced during the course.
