The students get an overview of the relevant concepts, theories and methods in the field of the Social History of Medicine and can use the newly acquired skills for their own research topics.
The relevance of Epidemiologic Transition Theory (Abdel Omran) in age of the new pandemic.
Introduction into the basics of the social history of medicine and health; discussion of application examples; practical exercises; oral and written presentations.
Continuous assessment, regular and active participation in discussions, participation in the workshop, written contribution (term paper).
