winter semester 2020/2021 | Last update: 14.10.2020 | Place course on memo list
Students have acquired advanced knowledge of the concepts, methods and tools of probability theory and statistics. They have the competence of applying these concepts and methods in concrete practical problems in the engineering sciences.
Classical X-ray based computed tomography leads to the mathematical problem of determining a function from integral values of this function along certain lines (described by the Radon transform). In this lecture we will study the following topics, which are relevant for the development of efficient reconstruction algorithms for computed tomography:
· Fourier transform
· Radon transform
· Sampling theory
· Neural Networks
· Deep Learning
In addition, we will still study generalized Radon transforms and introduce some modern tomographic methods.
Continuous assessment (based on regular written and/or oral contribution by participants).
Course examination according to § 7, statute section on "study-law regulations"
