Students recognize and understand the relationships between abiotic and biotic factors in the soil, they know about the composition of the soil microflora and their role in the context of (global) cycles.
Abiotic and biotic components of soils, the main groups of soil microorganisms (culturable and non-culturable), their role in soil and ways to determine the microbial biodiversity are discussed.
