Learning Outcome:

Students are able to understand the scientific fundamentals of chemistry.

Contents:

Basic chemical principles like the constitution of atoms and chemical bonding will be examplained. Therefore the students will get to know how to use and understand the periodic table of the elements. Finally the special properties of water and aqueous ionic solutions will be discussed, in order to understand very fundamental biological udn biochemical processes in a chemical way.

Unfortunately only ex-cathedra teaching (but for power point animations)
