Advanced insights in the the field of computational physics; ability to independently gain advanced knowledge in the field of computational physics.

Model construction, hierarchy, and qualification of complex physical systems; modelling categories (agent-, particle-, continuum-, stochastic-, data-based); from physical to mathematical model; from mathematical to numerical model; secondary modelling (boundary conditions, computational approximations); philosophy of scientific computing: a third pillar in the context of experiment and theory?; verification of computational models; uncertainty quantification; validation; reproducibility; data post processing and meaningful visualisation; open data.
