Knowledge and critical reflection of central concepts and topics of the educational policy debate (education, equal opportunities, social selection, all-day and comprehensive schools, qualification tests and assessment systems)

The idea of " Bildung " and the further development of institutional education systems is a challenge relevant to all contemporary professions. The public interest is large, almost all parties and interest groups emphasize the importance of education, but refer rarely systematically and scientifically, but often very vague to this concept. Against this background, this course aims to provide a scietific introduction to this subject that is understandable to all, and focuses on four main areas:

* The question of equal opportunities in educational systems and their connection to individualisation didactics

* A comparison of recent reforms in the school system with results of empirical educational research

* The question of early intervention and elementary education and the discourse about the "making learning fun".

* Current developments in higher education policy
