800611 PS To be disabled - to become disabled!? - How looks the every day life of disabled people? How inclusive is the structure of the austrian society?
winter semester 2020/2021 | Last update: 08.10.2020 | Place course on memo listThe aim is to sensitize, to cut uncertainness and the fear of contact in handling with people with disabilities. It should be discussed and researched together with the students how looks like the inclusive future in view of a closly society and what requirements are necessary to become an inculsive society.
Course of Sensitizing. How looks like the political correct wording of the different forms of disablilities? Teaching the terms of assignment and the basics by law. How to implement the UN-convention on the rights of persons with disabilities in Austria? What forms of devices requires people with different impairments? How to use this forms of devices? In the course the students can try to use a wheelchair, a electric-wheelchair, utilities in Braille, a white cane, an inductive hear loop, several glasses who simulate diverse illnesses of the eye. The students will get to know the every day life of people with disabilities. The head of the course - she also use a wheelchair - will talk about her every day life with the wheelchair. The head of the course will also teache and informe about blindeness and restraints of vision, restraints of hearing, deafness, restraints of mobility, autism, learning difficulties, mental diseases…. The students will learn important skills for the inclusive living together with people with disablities and with people without disabilities.
Academic lecture, speaking about the lastest researching findings, questiones and discussions. Formulation of thesis and hypothesis and drafting of an expert's report about enhancements, designs and implementation of a comprehensive inclusive structure of society in the near future. The students will work on a self-appointed or a given topic and a following exposition- PS and SE.
Written examination-VO.
The students learn how to use diffrent forms of devices.
