The students are able to discuss questions about algorithms and datafication from a social science perspective and to apply both qualitative and quantitative digital methods.

The course contains a social-sciences informed discussion of algorithms, datafication & platformization as well as epistemological discussions on „digital traces of taste“. Furthermore, it will link the theoretical part with practical work with digital methods.
